“As a child I grew up in the country just outside Asheville in Western North Carolina. My father, a native of Madison County married my mother after meeting her while serving in the Armed Forces in Austria. Some of my fondest memories were exploring and playing in these beautiful mountains I continue to draw inspiration from in my paintings. At the age of 8 my mother bought me my first set of oil paints. I have loved painting ever since.”

“While I love painting landscapes I have always been fascinated with figurative subjects, primarily street performers. My figurative paintings are imaginative interpretations of each subject, incorporating vibrant color schemes, expressive brushstrokes, and occasional texture.” – Sharon Trammel

Sharon received her MFA from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and BA from the University of North Carolina, Asheville. Currently she is retired as the Chair of the Fine and Performing Art Department at AB Tech Community College, where she has taught since 1990.
